Senior Java Developer
Role Overview
N2P Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our enterprise technology delivery team in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. At N2P Systems, you will put 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot and Spring MVC to work on mission-critical enterprise systems. This is an existing full-time, on-site vacancy with N2P Systems.
The Senior Java Developer will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java microservices for a financial services environment. The role focuses on backend application development, RESTful API design, data persistence, system integration, and reliable service delivery. The successful candidate will contribute to scalable and highly available applications while supporting enterprise security, compliance, and production stability requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices.
- Implement RESTful APIs that adhere to enterprise design standards.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for transactional and reporting use cases.
- Design and manage MongoDB schemas, indexes, and queries.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of microservices.
- Apply exception handling, logging, monitoring, and resiliency patterns.
- Integrate services with upstream and downstream enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and defect resolution.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and production issue resolution.
- Follow secure coding practices and applicable compliance standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on Java development experience using enterprise Java frameworks.
- Practical experience building and maintaining microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data.
- Experience working with MongoDB, including schema design and query management.
- Experience deploying or supporting applications in OpenShift or AWS environments.
- Understanding of API contracts, service decomposition, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Ability to develop reliable, scalable, and maintainable backend services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apache Kafka producers, consumers, and partitioning.
- Familiarity with JSON, OpenAPI, and Swagger documentation.
- Experience with MongoDB aggregation, indexing strategies, CRUD operations, and performance tuning.
- Exposure to SQL query optimization for transactional and reporting workloads.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, resiliency patterns, and production support.
- Experience with secure coding, compliance standards, automated testing, and collaborative code reviews.
