## Role Overview
The IBM FileNet Developer will be responsible for development, enhancement, maintenance and production support of IBM FileNet and Enterprise Content Management applications. The role combines hands-on IBM FileNet and IBM Content Navigator expertise with Java/J2EE development and Unix/Linux support to maintain reliable enterprise content platforms and resolve production issues.
## Key Responsibilities
- Understand and deliver against business requirements, incidents, service requests and change requests related to IBM FileNet and enterprise content management applications.
- Develop, enhance, configure and support IBM FileNet application components, repositories, workflows, document classes, metadata and security configurations.
- Configure and support IBM Content Navigator desktops, repositories, searches, viewer behavior, teamspaces, menus and applicable plug-in components.
- Develop and maintain Java/J2EE components, utilities, APIs, integrations, batch jobs and support scripts.
- Perform Unix/Linux support activities including log analysis, shell commands, script execution, file permission checks and deployment validation.
- Troubleshoot document upload/download, search, repository access, workflow, viewer, application and integration issues.
- Execute unit testing and support SIT/UAT, regression testing, deployment verification and post-production validation.
- Coordinate with technical, business, infrastructure, database, middleware and vendor teams to resolve issues.
- Prepare technical notes, SOPs, knowledge articles, deployment procedures, release notes and support handover documentation.
- Support incident, service request, problem and change tracking while contributing to application stability, recurring issue reduction and continuous improvement.
## What We Are Looking For
- 4-6 years of IT experience with hands-on IBM FileNet development, enhancement or application support experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM FileNet/FileNet P8 concepts including Content Platform Engine, object stores, document classes, metadata, security, workflow and search.
- Hands-on IBM Content Navigator configuration and support experience, including repositories, desktops, searches, viewers and plug-in/customization support.
- Good Java/J2EE development experience including servlets, JSP, REST/SOAP web services, XML, JSON, APIs and enterprise application integration.
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands, log analysis, file permissions, shell scripting basics and deployment support.
- Experience with L2/L3 support, root cause analysis, defect fixes, minor enhancements and production issue resolution.
- Ability to prepare technical documentation, support runbooks, release notes and knowledge articles.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate with onsite/offshore teams and deliver assigned tasks within agreed timelines.
## Preferred & Bonus Experience
- Knowledge of application servers such as WebSphere, JBoss or WebLogic, including JVM, server-log and deployment troubleshooting.
- Experience using Service Management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy or equivalent.
- Database awareness and SQL basics, including repository connectivity troubleshooting and DBA coordination.
- Experience with content migration, document ingestion, metadata update utilities and batch processing.
- Familiarity with source control and delivery tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or equivalent.
- Security and compliance awareness for document repositories, access control, audit trails and enterprise content platforms.
