Role Overview

## Role Overview Vancity is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to support the AI CoE’s Machine Learning and Data Science initiatives. The role focuses on applying machine learning, statistical modeling, analytics, and analytical problem-solving to translate business problems into practical data science solutions. The successful candidate will own end-to-end data science work from data exploration and preparation through feature engineering, model development, validation, interpretation, and communication of actionable insights. ## Key Responsibilities - Build, evaluate, and interpret machine learning models including regression and classification models. - Apply statistical modeling, predictive modeling, forecasting, experimentation, and A/B testing to solve business problems. - Perform data exploration, preparation, feature engineering, model validation, and model evaluation. - Generate actionable insights and clearly communicate analytical findings and model outputs to technical and business stakeholders. - Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers, and business partners to deliver enterprise AI and analytics solutions. - Work independently across the data science lifecycle and help move analytical solutions toward production readiness. - Develop and support use cases such as churn prediction, personalization, recommendation systems, marketing optimization, anomaly detection, and experimentation. - Use visualization platforms to communicate trends, model results, and business insights effectively. - Contribute to cloud-based data science initiatives and modern ML workflows where applicable. ## Project Goals - Deliver reliable, production-ready machine learning and data science solutions for enterprise business problems. - Improve the organization's ability to use predictive analytics, experimentation, and statistical modeling for decision-making. - Accelerate AI and analytics initiatives from initial exploration through validated solutions and production readiness. - Translate complex analytical results into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
