Data Architect / Data Lead Joining: Immediate / Short Notice Preferred About the Role We are looking for an experienced Data Architect / Data Lead with 15+ years of overall IT experience and strong hands-on experience in data architecture, data engineering, and enterprise data solutions. The ideal candidate should have progressed through hands-on data engineering/technical roles into a Data Lead or Data Architect position, with the ability to provide both strategic architectural direction and practical technical leadership. This is a critical position, and we are looking to close the role at the earliest. Key Responsibilities - Define and implement enterprise-level data architecture and data strategies aligned with business requirements. - Lead the design of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms and solutions. - Provide hands-on technical leadership across data engineering, data integration, data modeling, and data management. - Design and review data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, data lakes, and modern data platforms. - Lead technical discussions with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and senior leadership. - Establish standards for data modeling, architecture, governance, quality, security, and performance. - Evaluate existing data platforms and recommend modernization opportunities. - Guide development teams on architecture, technology selection, coding standards, and best practices. - Troubleshoot complex data and performance issues and provide technical solutions. - Ensure data solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles. - Mentor senior developers, data engineers, and technical leads. - Participate in architecture reviews, solution design, estimation, and technical documentation. Required Technical Experience - 15+ years of overall IT experience, with significant experience in data technologies. - Proven experience working as a Data Architect, Data Lead, Technical Lead, or equivalent senior data role. - Strong hands-on experience in data architecture and data engineering. - Expertise in data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models. - Strong understanding of data warehouse and data lake architectures. - Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT and data integration frameworks. - Strong SQL and database development experience. - Experience with one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Experience with modern data technologies such as Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, or equivalent platforms is highly desirable. - Strong understanding of distributed data processing and large-scale data systems. - Experience designing APIs/data integration solutions and working with enterprise applications. - Understanding of data governance, data quality, security, metadata management, and master data management. Leadership & Communication - Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical data architecture. - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. - Ability to lead architecture discussions and influence technical decisions. - Comfortable working directly with clients and senior management. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Ability to work independently while leading cross-functional technical teams. - Must be willing to work on-site from Coimbatore. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. - Experience in enterprise-scale data transformation or modernization programs. - Experience leading large-scale data migration initiatives. - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. - Relevant cloud/data certifications are an advantage.
